The first meeting of SEFCI was held on Wednesday June 20th, 2012 at the Capitol Grill in Miami. The event had a fantastic turn out which will go down in history as the founding members of the group. In attendance were Juan C. Batlle and Warren Janowitz from Radiology Associates of South Florida (RASF/Baptist), Ruchira Garg and Juan C. Muñiz from Miami Children (MCH), Bill Burke from Mount Sinai Medical Center (MSMC), Joel Fishman, Ed Ghersin, and Gary Danton from Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH), and Rodolfo J. Blandon, Felipe Martinez-Gonzalez, and Jacobo Kirsch from CCF.
The event took off with a brief Introduction by Dr. Kirsch and Dr. Batlle, followed by a head-to-head Cardiac Imaging Challenge to the Death between the two of them. The rest of the group actively participated trying to decipher the two nearly-impossible cases prepared for the occasion.
We all had a great time and really enjoyed spending time with some of our local peers with whom we don’t get to interact routinely.
We want to thank Siemens/Med-Lab for helping us put this event together and for sponsoring dinner. In particular Lucas and George who did a terrific job with the logistics of the event. (By the way, the Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake was ridiculous!)
It was great. Hope to see everybody again soon.
