The second meeting of SEFCI took place last night in Coral Gables. There was a really nice turnout to see our guest speaker from Mexico City, Dr. Alejandra Lara, share with us the history and exquisite details of Diego Rivera’s Frescoes at the Instituto Nacional de Cardiología “Ignacio Chavez”.
The talk was very thorough covering the history of the Institue, the relation between Diego Rivera and Dr. Ignacio Chavez, and the technique and details of the fresco painting. We then explored the chronology of the history of cardiology by focusing on each individual character represented in the two large panels. We are very grateful that Dr. Lara took the time to prepare such an amazing presentation and that she was willing to visit us.
Last night we had a quorum of 15! We want to welcome Yoel Siegel and Richard Kardon that joined us for the first time. Great to have you! And also, Regina Ason joined and presented her thoughts on our 3rd Case Challenge! She did a fantastic job, as did Felipe Martinez explaining to us the details of the case as well as sharing some follow up information on what happened with the patient (a POST describing the case will follow soon).
Once again, we want to thank Siemens MedLab for their generous support. Food was great! The group of people was even better!
Hope everyone enjoyed the meeting! See you next time!
